As the NBA season comes a close, we now shift focus to the offseason which will be full of some enormous blockbuster trades. One of the biggest trade targets will be the Cleveland Cavaliers' Collin Sexton. Sexton had a fantastic season, putting up an average 24 points and 4 assists a game. Of course, he was doing all of this on the Cavs so none of that really mattered.

We had already heard that Sexton was going to be a prime trade possibility for many teams. Now we are hearing which up-and-coming squad is gunning for him: The New York Knicks.

The Athletic is reporting that the Knicks are aiming to land the point guard and are offering up Obi Toppin, Kevin Knox, and the number 21 pick in the 2021 draft in order to get him. That's a fairly good haul for Cleveland, which already has a strong point guard in Darius Garland. They could definitely build a more powerful team with these assets from New York.

As for the Knicks, acquiring Sexton would be great news as they are looking to strengthen their point guard spot. Right now they are relying on Derrick Rose, Elfrid Payton, and Frank Ntilkina. However, all of those players are free agents. Rose is expected to return but likely as a bench player as his knee is acting up. In New York, Sexton stands a chance to be the starting PG with one of the most historic teams in the league. That could send his career to the next level.
