Nets' Guard James Harden Detained by French Police For Drug Case

James Harden of the Brooklyn Nets is currently in Paris, France for Paris Fashion Week. However, his time in the city of love is off to a bumpy start.

It's been reported that the All-Star NBA player was stopped by local authorities in France while he was out with American rapper Lil Baby. According to TMZ, the police found 20 grams of marijuana inside of Lil Baby's car. The rapper was arrested for allegedly transporting narcotics but Harden was released about being frisked and investigated.


It seems unlikely that Harden will face any charges since it sounds like the drugs in question belonged to Lil Baby. However, being stopped by police is definitely not something Harden wants, especially since the NBA has been much more strict about public appearances for their players. It looks like Harden dodged a bullet but he will likely have to be a bit more careful about who he hangs out with in the future.


Harden is getting a much-needed break from the court after suffering a hamstring injury that impaired his output in the postseason and helped contribute to the Nets' surprising loss to the Bucks just a few weeks ago.
