NBA insider reveals the Jazz plans with Donovan Mitchell to send him out east.
The Jazz have arguably been the busiest team during this offseason. They started the domino fall of trades after letting go of All Star Centre Rudy Gobert in return for 5 first round picks and a haul of players, which includes Patrick Beverley.
Danny Ainge then flipped Patrick Beverley to the Lakers in exchange for young prospect Thalen Horton Tucker and some picks.It is to noeones surprise that the Utah Jazz are clearly in a rebuilding phase and are looking to acquire as much assets for their star players. Who's next? Their best player, Donovan Mitchell.
According to Brian Windhorst ,the Utah Jazz are looking to trade Donovan Mitchell in the next few weeks ahead of training camp. Where to? You guessed it, New York. The Knicks have been the sole favourite to land Mitchell, to ultimately pair him with Jalen Brunson and create one of the best backcourts in the league.
The Jazz are beginning their businessMacMahon, you said I believe last week that you thought that the Jazz would make a Donovan Mitchell trade before the [regular season] opener. And it sounds to me in talking to people around the league that the Jazz want to try to go even sooner than that, that they want to go before training camp.
It does sound as I talk to folks in the league that the Jazz are trying to apply the gas here, trying to juice the offer, especially juice the offer from the New York Knicks.
The closer that we are approaching the NBA season, the more talks pick up surrounding Mitchell and the Knicks. Expect the trade to happen in the next few weeks as the Jazz do not want to drag this into the season.
