Montrezl Harrell Takes Shot On Frank Vogel: "Match Up Situations Are Excuses"
The Los Angeles Lakers has one of the big signings in last year's free agency. They had signed big man and 2020 sixth man of the year Montrezl Harrell.
The Lakers entered the 2020-2021 season as favorite to win it all and repeat as NBA Champions.Harrell helped the injury-riddled Lakers finished 7th in West. Although he doesn't have much success compared to his stint with the Clippers, he has managed to average 13.5 points and 6.2 rebounds on a very efficient 62% shooting.
But the 27-year-old big man doesn't have much success in the post-season. Frank Vogel opt to bench him a lot citing much up situation. With the Laker-Suns series, Harrell has struggled to make an impact for his team.
He has to go up against the likes of Deandre Ayton, Dario Saric and Frank Kaminsky. Those guys were at least 6'10 while Harrell is just 6'7 who's playing the center position.
Same scenario was happened to Harrell when he was with the Clippers team. Although he won the 2020 sixth man of the year award, the then Clippers' head coach Doc Rivers also opted to bench him more in the post season.
Harrell was asked by a fan why the Lakers didn't play him much. One user replied saying "because he can't guard a center without getting into foul trouble"
Harrell didn't like the response of the guy. He replied and just laughed it off. One fan said Frank Vogel f*ck*d up their chance with Trez. Someone replied Vogel didn't play him because of matchup situations.
Trez replied saying "Matchup situations are excuses lmao (emojis), that sh*t isn'treal"
Trez reply seems to be a shot on Lakers' coach Frank Vogel. He seems to be frustrated with how his coach and the Lakers has managed him specially in the post-season. Harell has a player option this summer. He can decline his $9.72 million player option in his contract and sign somewhere else.
