James Harden surprised the whole league and decided to opt out of his $47.3 Million player option heading into the 2022-2023 NBA season.

The latest rumour reported by Adrian Wojnarowski, who made an appearance on ESPN, mentions that James and the sixers are close on inking a new deal to keep the superstar in Philly.

You can expect Harden and his representative and Daryl Morey in Philly to really sit down and hammer that deal out here, perhaps as soon as the next 24 hours

James Harden is reportedly going to take a paycut in order to help GM Darryl Morrey improve the team with extra money.

In 21 regular season games with the Sixers last season, Harden averaged 21.0 points, 10.5 assists, 7.1 rebounds and 1.2 steals per game.

Harden expressed his frustration during last years playoff run, he says:

I've been trying to get right through the course of a basketball season for two years straight," Harden said last month. "And it's like, that's not it. You know what I mean? All last summer I was rehabbing. It was a little frustrating because I'm not used to going through something like that, but it is what it is. I'm just happy to be healthy now. I've got a full summer to be straight and do the things necessary to come back even better next year.
