Boston Celtics legend Larry Bird became a big fan of Michael Jordan after their first game against each other in November of 1984.

Dan Shaughnessy told the story on how Bird praised the Chicago Bulls rookie.

Shaugnessy even said that Bird claimed that Michael Jordan will be the greatest player of all time.

"Jordan came into the league in '85, and the first night Larry played against him — I knew he (Jordan) was good — but Larry said, he said to me, he said, 'That guy is gonna be the greatest player ever, you watch,'" Shaughnessy told Damon Amendolara in an appearance on The DA Show.

"I didn't see it. He (Bird) saw it, he was out there on the floor. I didn't think it was that remarkable, he (Jordan) was a good rookie. And he (Bird) said after the game, he just said, 'You watch.' And I said, 'You're just blowing smoke' — which he never did. But he knew. First night."

The Celtics went on to beat Jordan and the Bulls, 125-105. MJ put up 27 points on 12/24 shooting along with two rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block. Bird had a double-double of 14 points, 17 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 blocks. He shot 6/17 from the field.

There's no compilation of highlights of the game but there is a video highlights uploaded on youtube about rookie Michael Jordan vs. Larry Bird highlights.

Jordan was so good on playing basketball even at his 10th game only on the league and on his first game against big name like Bird, he made an immediate impression to the hall of famer.
