Lakers coach Darwin Ham indicates that he intend to use a lineup with Russ and Pat Bev together on the court.

Lakers Head Coach Darwin Ham reportedly has a set lineup that he would like to use with Pat Bev and Russel Westbrook for the 2022-2023 NBA season. That of course is if Russel Westbrook does not get traded and fulfills his contract with the Lakers.

A potential startling lineup of Russ, Pat Bev, Lebron and AD will not be amongst the leagues best lineups. Sure they would have the grit and energy from the backcourt, however they would be lacking shooting in all areas of the game.

Both of these guys have had a strange past in the NBA. Getting into it on the court and off of it. Here's Russ talking about Pat Bev's flawed defence.




Marc Stein indicates that both Russel Westbrook and Patrick Beverley have been in contact since the latter has been acquired via trade by the Lakers.


At the time, it surely looks like the Lakers wont be trading Russel Westbrook and so Darwin Ham has already come up with a lineup which includes both of them.

Last season, Russel Westbrook, averaged 18.5 points, 7.4 rebounds and 7.1 assists per game while shooting 44.4 percent from the field and 29.8 percent from beyond the arc. It was considered one of the worst years for Russel Westbrook and the Lakers. They missed the play in tournament after winning the NBA finals less then 2 years ago.

They both lack shooting, however Pat Bev is a better shooter then Russ. Maybe Russ will be playing a role of a slasher, using his speed and aggressiveness to make backdoor cuts and move the ball up the court quickly.

Here is Darwin Ham earlier this summer indicating that he may use Russ as a slasher for this coming season.


After missing the playoffs last season, Darwin Ham is looking to change that and build a competitive team around Lebron James and Anthony Davis. As long as both of these guys stay healthy, the Lakers have a chance of beating anyone in the league at any time.
