Lakers' Interest in Reuniting With DeMarcus Cousins Exposed in Explosive Report

With Mo Bamba out for the rest of the regular season due to a sprained left ankle, the Los Angeles Lakers find themselves in need of a big man. However, fans hoping for the return of DeMarcus Cousins may be disappointed, as a recent report from Lakers Daily indicates that the team has no interest in bringing him back. Zach Stevens reported on March 20 that the purple and gold are not considering Cousins as an option to fill their frontcourt void.

«Sources tell Lakers Daily that general manager Rob Pelinka is not a fan of Cousins,» Stevens wrote. «Apparently, he ‘left a bad taste in Pelinka's mouth,' and the team is ‘adamant' about not signing him.»

During the summer of 2019, DeMarcus Cousins signed with the Los Angeles Lakers. Unfortunately, he never got the chance to play for the franchise due to a torn left ACL. Consequently, the four-time All-Star was waived by the Lakers in February 2020. Despite his absence, the Lakers still managed to win the 2020 championship against the Miami Heat at the Walt Disney World bubble in six games. Cousins went on to play for the Milwaukee Bucks and Denver Nuggets last season, where he appeared in 48 games and averaged 9.0 points and 5.6 rebounds.

The former Kentucky player has played for various teams throughout his career, including the Sacramento Kings, New Orleans Pelicans, Golden State Warriors, Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Clippers, Bucks, and Nuggets, with career averages of 19.6 points and 10.2 rebounds.
