Kendrick Nunn was a surprised pick-up for the Los Angeles Lakers this free agency.

After Miami Heat withdrew their qualifying offer for the 26-year-old guard, the Lakers grabbed the opportunity to add the 6'2 guard to their roster.

Nunn reflects on his Lakers signing.

«It means a lot. I'm honored to be in this position to put on an L.A. Lakers jersey and it's a powerhouse franchise and it means everything. It means a lot. Putting on and represent this city. Obviously I'm a kid from Chicago, the south side of Chicago, but I love L.A. and I want to represent them as much [and] as well as I can."

Nunn played two seasons for the Heat from 2019-2021 after he went undrafted in 2018 NBA Draft. He averaged 15 points, 2.9 rebounds, 3 assists and 0.9 steals on 123 regular season games he played for the Heat. Nunn started 111 of those games.

The new Lakers guard has career shooting percentages of 46 percent from the field, 36 percent from behind the arc and 88 percent from the charity stripe.

Nunn is expected to come off the bench along with Lakers' promising young guard Talen Horton-Tucker.
