KD Responds to Reports that Steve Kerr Tried to Stop his Twitter Beefs

A late-night interaction between Kevin Durant and Steve Kerr has been circulating recently following a passage published in Matt Sullivan's recent book. It appears that Kerr was worried that Durant was too focused on what the media and fans were saying about his decisions, and wanted him to emulate former greats in ignoring the spectacle created by the media and the rumor mills. Of course, we now know that this conversation didn't do much to quell Durant's Twitter activities. Ironically, Durant responded to the report with a tweet of his own:

It's well known that a rift formed between Durant and the Warriors' core during his final season there, but this tweet seems to indicate that the disconnect might have also extended between Durant and head coach Steve Kerr. It seems that in this instance, Durant and Kerr are arguing different points entirely. While Durant claims that his Twitter activity hasn't affected his play, Kerr appeared to be advising Durant on his public image, something he has struggled with since his departure from the Oklahoma City Thunder. While it's unlikely that Kerr will respond to Durant's tweet given his advice, he will undoubtedly be asked about this event in the future.
