According to Anthony Slater of the Athletic, he reports that several people in the Warriors organization were left stung after they let Gary Payton II sign with the Portland Blazers.
Gary Payton II signed a 3 year $28M deal with the Portland Trail Blazers. Shams Charania broke the news.
Just like his father, Gary Payton II was a stellar defensive player who played a key role in the Warriors championship run. He averaged 6.5 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 12 playoff games played this year. He also missed 2 rounds of the playoffs with a gruesome elbow injury.
