Here's why Durant's next move is very important for his legacy
As he turns 34 in September, Kevin Durant knows he has no more time to waste in a season without ambition or a first-round sweep.
The criticism around his choice to join the Warriors in 2016 is still there and KD needs a title away from Golden State for his legacy. It remains to be seen if he will join a strong team (Phoenix?) or rather a team with which to write a great story. The kind that could change his image with the fans.
It was supposed to be a calm and quiet Free Agency and then Kevin Durant decided to set the world on fire. KD asked his management for a trade. A real earthquake while there are still four years of contract left to the player!
Durant quickly understood that his dream of winning another title was a lost cause with the Nets even with still 2 strong players beside him, Simmons and Irving.
As for Simmons, he hasn't played for more than a year in official competition and his health remains a question mark at the time of writing.
For Uncle Drew, it's not really better since he played only 103 games over the last three seasons and he seems more than ever in conflict with his management. In short, uncertainties, an environment not really healthy, we saw better for a team that is supposed to play the title. And Kevin Durant wants this title or better yet, he absolutly needs this title more then ever.
