Former NBA Star Starts his Basketball Comeback!

The NBA has become a fast moving, physically demanding, young league. Some stars are retiring at younger ages for various reasons, Injuries, Mental Health, Family Obligations, Etc. One Such Star stepped away from the game citing Mental Health.

Former NBA Star Rick Rubio announced he was stepping away from the game for his Mental Health in August of 2023. He was bought out by the Cleveland Cavaliers on January 4th, 2024, and later that day he announced his official retirement from the NBA.

Rubio announced this weekend that he is ready to make his comeback and that he will start by working out with Spanish Club FC Barcelona.

«After several weeks of thinking and dedicated work on both my mind and body, I see myself with the desire and strength to see how I react with a ball in my hands,» Rubio wrote. «My next step has been to ask FC Barcelona if I could, with no obligations and without interrupting their plans for the season, train with them.»

After an 11-year career in the NBA the 33-year-old will try and continue his career where it all started for him as a teenager at FC Barcelona. It is good to see that Rubio after all the injuries (he missed much of 20-21 and 21-22 while recovering from torn ACL, and Mental health concerns that he is well enough to start playing again.
