Dennis Schroder's Wife Fires Back After Fans Mock Him For Rejecting $84 Million From The Lakers
Dennis Schroder had been making headlines for almost a week now. The former NBA All-star has recently signed a one-year, $5.9 million contract to play for the Boston Celtics this coming season.
Schroder turned down a four-year, $84 million contract extension from the Los Angeles Lakers last March. People were making fun of him for declining the said contract making him lose a lot of money. Schröder bet so much on himself that he believed he is worth $100-$120 million and he can get it this this free agency.Instead Schroder settled for a $5.9 million contract this free agency, losing a guaranteed $78 million money.
The former Lakers point guard posted his message to his critiques on his Instagram story last night.
"keep that same energy ppl"
Now, Schroder's wife was the one to hit back on his husband's haters.
Ellen Schröder posted a message on his Instagram story:
"I'm so proud of my husband that he made this decision to stay true to himself and to fight for his goals and his vision. I know not everyone understand this... They would choose money before anything else... But let me tell you: Show some love, be patient and watch what happens next."
Schroder has still a chance to redeem himself next year and get the precious contract he's looking for. After all, he's just 27 years old and still has a lot of time to get that big contract. If the Boston Celtics make a big playoff run and he shows up in the playoffs, Schroder will definitely increase his value next free agency.
