Dennis Schröder Gets Bad News With His Contract Negotiations

When Dennis Schröder rejected the Lakers' four-year, $84 million contract extension, many people thought he was crazy. But Schröder felt he could find more value and a larger salary on another team.

It turns out Schröder was wrong.

According to Morten Jensen of Forbes, it is very unlikely that he will earn a max payout with any team in the NBA. At the end of the day, Schröder's last season with the Lakers and his previous work as a mostly-bench player on other teams have proven that "overall, he grades out as being an average guard."

Jensen goes on to say that Schröder's best chances lie in landing a deal similar to what Jordan Clarkson of the Jazz got. Clarkson's latest package earned him $51 million over four years.

Make no mistake, Schröder has been very impressive at times. He was doing terrific work towards the beginning of his season with LA. However, he hasn't quite hit the heights that he thinks he has and there is little-to-no chance that any team offers him the $100 million he wants.
