Damian Lillard Breaks his Silence on Latest Trade Rumors

It's been quite the day for Portland Trail Blazers fans.

Just last night, we heard a rumor that Dame was looking to be traded from the Blazers and would put in a formal trade request today. Then this morning came word that that was all baseless speculation and Lillard hadn't made up his mind yet. And now, Lillard has finally spoken and said his piece.

In short, these latest trade rumors are "not true."




Lillard's statement will put today's rumors to rest...for now. You will notice that he said he hasn't made a decision about his future. "I haven't made any firm decision" were his exact words. While that might cause some Portland fans to breathe a sigh of relief, it might make others awfully nervous. In the past, Lillard has seemed very committed to staying with Portland. No ifs, and, or buts about it. However, saying that he hasn't "made any firm decision" about what's coming next for him definitely makes it seem like he has options - that might not bode well for Portland.

Obviously, rumors are going to continue to run rampant since Lillard didn't come straight out and say he is staying with Portland for the foreseeable future. There is still a good chance that Lillard suits up somewhere else when the new season begins. For the next few months, it's going to be Dame Time 24/7.
