Cleveland Cavaliers Young Star On Trading Block
Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Collin Sexton put up 24 points, 4 assists, and 3 rebounds a game in this last season. He shot 47% overall with an impressive 37% from the 3-point line. He was one of the bright spots of an otherwise terrible season for the Cavs, who went just 22-50 and went on to claim the number three pick in the upcoming draft.
But the Cavs might have an even rougher next season considering they may be moving forward without Sexton. According to multiple reports, the player is "very available" for trade talks. The fact that Sexton won't be landing his max contract extension is going to hurt his trade value but he is surely going to be a tantalizing prospect to many up-and-coming teams with some cash to spend. It just depends on how much other teams are willing to spend and who they are willing to ship out.
As for Cleveland, the fact that Sexton is even a possible trade shows that they are doubling down on the concept of rebuilding their team from the ground-up.
Is Sexton going to pack up and head somewhere else in the NBA or will the buyer's market not find a home for the promising young player, forcing him to stay put with the Cavs for the time being?
