LeBron James is ready for a new season. With a retooled team, the Los Angeles Lakers will try to get back their throne this season.

After acquiring Russell Westbrook from the Washington Wizards and signing big name veterans Trevor Ariza, Carmelo Anthony and Dwight Howard. The Lakers became one of the favorites to win it all this coming season.

LeBron will try to get his fifth championship ring while Westbrook and Carmelo will go for their first ring.

Some people said the new Lakers roster is a super team while some said they're too old to make a deep playoff run. Some were doubting LeBron's ability to lead the team to a championship with his age and after having an average performance last year in the playoffs.

Fox Sports analyst Chris Broussard recently discussed LeBron's ability to win a championship this season. He said that James can still win a ring but he also has an excuse if he couldn't.

He mentioned LeBron's age might be the reason for him not winning another championship and compared it to Tom Brady.

«Because of LeBron's age, he's like Tom Brady — he has a built-in excuse for not winning another championship. LeBron is 37, he's in his 19th year so if he doesn't win that will be an explanation of why,» Broussard said on First Things First.

Broussard does have a point. LeBron will be 37 years old this December and father time might be catching up soon. Still, this is a statement for LeBron that at his age, he's still competing for a championship and not riding the bench unlike most of the NBA hall of famers when they're at the twilight of their career.

The Lakers will have a tough time going for the championship this season. They'll go up against the recent finalist Phoenix Suns, top team like Utah Jazz, a healthy LA Clippers, Golden State Warriors and Denver Nuggets and a Luka Doncic-led Dallas Mavericks in the West. And if they'll make past the West, they could face the super team Brooklyn Nets or the defending champion Milwaukee Bucks in the NBA Finals.
