Desmond Bane's injury situation has been clarified. Coach Taylor Jenkins disclosed that Bane has progressed from three-on-three to five-on-five basketball activities over the past couple of weeks. The Memphis Grizzlies are now hopeful for his return later this season.

Bane's last game was on January 12th, where he suffered a Grade 3 left ankle sprain against the Los Angeles Clippers. Since then, he has been on the road to recovery.

The team announced on February 22nd that Bane was expected to return within three to five weeks, and he is currently nearing the end of that timeline.

In his 37 appearances this season, Bane has achieved career-high statistics, averaging 24.4 points and 5.3 assists per game, while also setting a personal best with 3.3 made 3-pointers per game.

Keep an eye out for a potential return from Brandon Clarke. Since March 2023, he has been sidelined due to a torn left Achilles, but the Grizzlies are cautiously managing his recovery.

Clarke's presence can bring stability to the frontcourt, as he has consistently averaged double figures in scoring over his last four NBA seasons.

Grizzlies' general manager Zach Kleiman suggested after the trade deadline that Clarke might get some playing time before the season concludes, and now it appears increasingly likely.

This weekend, Clarke will initiate five-on-five workouts as part of his progression towards a comeback.
