New Orleans Sharpshooter is on his way back from Major Injury
The New Orleans Pelicans have suffered from injury troubles for what seems like close to a decade now, with notable stars such as Anthony Davis, DeMarcus Cousins, and Zion Williamson all missing significant time due to injuries.
This season appears to be continuing this trend with CJ McCollum suffering from a collapsed lung. However, there is some good news for the Pelicans, as one notable sharpshooter looks ready to return to action.Trey Murphy III Return
According to NBA insider Shams Charania, Murphy has now fully recovered from his meniscus tear and will make his season debut this Friday against the Spurs. Murphy has been out since September but is looking to regain his starting spot, which he earned last season.

Murphy's Career With Pelicans
At 23 years old, Murphy still has a lot of potential in the NBA. He has only played two seasons so far, but the improvement from his first year to the second was monumental. His numbers improved in almost every single category, and his shooting ability certainly put the league on notice, as he shot over 40% from 3-point range and over 90% from the foul line.
This improvement earned him a starting spot last year, as he started in 65 games, averaging over 30 minutes. With the Pelicans being one of only 8 teams remaining in the first-ever NBA in-season tournament, now is the perfect time for his return to make an instant impact alongside franchise cornerstone Zion Williamson, who has made a mark in the league this year.
Below, you can watch Murphy's full season highlights from last year where he averaged 14.5 points per game.
