Wolves' Rudy Gobert: Understanding the Emotions Behind Draymond Green's Suspension

In a recent interview with ESPN, Minnesota Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert opened up about his feelings of
"empathy"
towards Golden State Warriors rival Draymond Green, who is currently under an indefinite suspension following an incident with Phoenix Suns center Jusuf Nurkic.

The NBA's Decision

Green's suspension was announced by the NBA, citing a
"repeated history of unsportsmanlike acts."
This follows a prior five-game ban for Green after an altercation involving Gobert on November 14. Gobert, who attempted to intervene in a scuffle between Golden State's Klay Thompson and Minnesota's Jaden McDaniels, found himself in a chokehold by Green.

Gobert's Perspective

Despite being a target of Green's verbal jabs over the years, Gobert expressed genuine concern for Green's well-being.
"You see somebody that's not well inside and suffering. You take away the game and all that, and you want somebody to be well and be able to do what we do every night and compete and be happy,"
Gobert shared after an impressive eight-point, 12-rebound performance in the Timberwolves' 119-101 victory over the Dallas Mavericks.

League's Necessary Measures

While Gobert acknowledged the league's need for stringent measures due to the potential threat to players' safety, he refrained from passing judgment on the fairness of Green's indefinite suspension, citing uncertainty about its duration.
"I'm not sure what that really means, so it's hard to tell," Gobert stated. "You don't want someone to get badly hurt. You've got to fix that. That's it."
