Lance Stephenson signs with shocking team
A couple of months have passed since this summer's free agency period, yet many teams are still adjusting their rosters as the season progresses. One particular free agent has made a shocking move by signing with a new team, marking what might be the strangest signing of this season.
10 Year Veteran ReturnsThe star in question is the 10-year NBA veteran, Lance Stephenson. At 33 years old, Stephenson has played for 10 seasons in the NBA across 8 different franchises. His most notable tenure was with the Indiana Pacers, who originally drafted him in the second round of the 2010 draft.
Though he only averaged over 10 points in one season of his career, Stephenson was more recognized as a defensive specialist, notably highlighted in his matchups against LeBron James during the epic Heat vs. Pacers playoff series. Ironically, Lance eventually teamed up with his biggest rival when both he and James joined the Lakers for the 2018-19 season.

After playing last season in Puerto Rico, Stephenson has shocked the world with his return to the United States by signing with a new team this week.
Stephenson's New Team
NBA insider Michael Scotto revealed that Stephenson has officially signed with the Timberwolves' G-League affiliate. Minnesota has kicked off the season with a league-best record of 17-4. In contrast, the Iowa Wolves have experienced the opposite, starting poorly at just 3-9 and sitting near the bottom of the standings.

Stephenson's arrival is anticipated to introduce a new level of veteran leadership and NBA experience, something the Wolves' front office hopes will reverse their poor start. This opportunity could also offer Lance a chance to shine in a larger role than he was given in the NBA, which he proved capable of when he played overseas and won the Terrific 12 MVP in 2019.
