The early season struggles for the San Antonio Spurs continue with their 7th consecutive loss. In spite of their form number 1 pick Victor continues to show glimpses of his star potential with incredible highlights throughout.

7th Straight Loss

Nobody expected Wembenyama to step in as a teenager and immediately lead the Spurs to the playoffs. However, seeing them drop over two games below a play-in position this early is quite surprising.

After last night's loss to the Kings, the Spurs now have the longest losing streak in the Western Conference this season. With matchups against the Clippers, Warriors, and Nuggets in four of their next five games, it's not unreasonable to anticipate that this losing streak may extend to 12 games.

Their next game against the Grizzlies becomes incredibly important. While the Grizzlies are also struggling and are actually one place lower than the Spurs in the standings, the game is being played in Memphis and with the homecourt crowd they could pose more challenges than it appears.

Eliminated From In-Season Tournament

The loss to the Kings last night not only extended the Spurs' losing streak but also eliminated them from the in-season tournament. Having lost all three of their group games, they're among the first four teams eliminated from the inaugural NBA Cup.

While they're mathematically unable to qualify for the knockout round, the Spurs still have one more group game against the Warriors next Saturday. Considering that group games count towards the overall NBA standings, the Spurs are expected to remain competitive in their final group match.

Wembenyama Shines

Despite the losses piling up for his team, Wembenyama continues to exhibit why he's a must-watch superstar in the league. He showcases physics-defying highlights and a unique skill set, especially for someone over 7ft, let alone 7'7.

His versatility is evident on both ends of the court, averaging just under 20 points per game while also recording 2.6 blocks per game. With these recent stellar performances, many anticipate Victor becoming the first rookie named an All-Star in over a decade. Watching the highlights, it's easy to understand why.
