Just a mere two weeks after his signing, the Sacramento Kings appear to parting ways with guard Jeremy Lamb. This development was brought to light by Jason Anderson of The Sacramento Bee.

Lamb initially became a part of the Kings through a trade deal that landed All-Star centre Domantas Sabonis in exchange for Tyrese Haliburton and Buddy Hield. Since the trade, Lamb has seen limited action, with no participation in the previous season and only 17 games played during the 2021-2022 NBA season.

During the team's preseason debut against the Toronto Raptors in Vancouver, Lamb saw just 7 minutes of play and managed to score 6 points. He was a member of the fourth unit, sharing the court with Jordan Ford, Jaylen Nowell, Deonte Burton, and rookie Jalen Slawson.

As per Anderson's report, the organization is aiming for him to become part of their G-League team based in Stockton.

Jeremy Lamb's Career

Lamb was drafted 12th overall from UConn by the Houston Rockets in the 2012 NBA Draft. He later became a part of the trade package that ultimately brought James Harden to the Houston Rockets. His most productive stretch in terms of statistics occurred when he was traded to the Charlotte Hornets in 2015. His best season averages were with the Hornets in the 2018-2019 season, where he averaged 15.3 PPG and 5.5 RPG. After signing a three-year, $31.5 million contract with the Pacers in 2019, his career took a downturn as he faced multiple severe injuries.

Prospects of Joining the NBA G League:

Lindsey Harding, the recently appointed head coach of the Stockton Kings, has a roster that includes two-way players like Jordan Ford, Jalen Slawson, and Keon Ellis, along with Baylor guard James Akinjo. If Lamb manages to clear the waiver process, he would bolster Stockton's lineup and have an opportunity to showcase his abilities after a year away from professional basketball. However, it's worth emphasizing that other teams could potentially claim him at any point.
