Unfortunate news hits former NBA Top 10 pick
The Trail Blazers' shooting guard, Shaedon Sharpe, is set to undergo corrective surgery for a core muscle injury, as announced by the team. Sharpe, who has been sidelined since January 11 due to a lower abdominal strain, experienced worsening symptoms during his rehab attempts, leading to the decision for surgery.
Although the timetable for his recovery is yet to be determined, the injury could potentially end his season. As the No. 7 pick in the 2022 draft, Sharpe has been averaging 15.9 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 2.9 assists in 33.1 minutes per game this season, starting 25 out of 32 games. In his rookie season, he appeared in 80 games, with 15 starts, averaging 9.9 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 1.2 assists in 22.2 minutes per game.
