Phoenix Suns guard Grayson Allen re-injured his sprained right ankle during the third quarter of Game 2 in their first-round playoff series against the Minnesota Timberwolves. This incident forced him to leave the court and he was subsequently ruled out for the remainder of the game. Following the game, which the Suns lost 105-93, coach Frank Vogel confirmed that X-rays on Allen's ankle were negative, and he is considered day-to-day.
Minnesota now holds a 2-0 lead in the series, with Game 3 scheduled for Friday. Allen expressed uncertainty about his ability to play in the upcoming game, acknowledging that he was unsure how his ankle would fare after two days of treatment. However, he appreciated the break, hoping it would aid his recovery. He described the re-injury as occurring in a manner similar to the original sprain in Game 1. During an attempt to block Mike Conley's drive to the basket, Allen jumped and landed awkwardly on his right leg, necessitating assistance to leave the floor and head to the locker room.In terms of performance, Allen struggled in the series prior to the injury, scoring only four points in Game 1 over 25 minutes and managing three points in 17 minutes during Game 2.
