Phoenix Suns intend to ink Isaiah Thomas for the rest of the season
Reporting on Monday, The Athletic's Shams Charania revealed that the Phoenix Suns are set to secure former Boston Celtics guard Isaiah Thomas for the remainder of the 2023-24 season. Thomas recently wrapped up two 10-day contracts with the Suns, marking his transition to a full-time role with the team. During his brief appearances under these contracts, the seasoned guard participated in four games, averaging 1.3 points per game.
Before his stint with the Suns, the 35-year-old had been absent from the NBA since 2022. However, he showcased his skills in four games with the Salt Lake City Stars in the NBA G League, boasting an impressive average of 32.5 points per game.
With a career scoring average of 17.7 points across 550 career games with various teams including the Kings, Celtics, and Lakers, Thomas brings considerable experience to the Suns roster.

Former two-time All-Star Isaiah Thomas had spent a couple of years away from the NBA before receiving another opportunity with Phoenix. Despite only seeing 14 minutes of playing time across four appearances this season, mostly in garbage time, Thomas has reportedly impressed in practices and earned praise from head coach Frank Vogel for his positive influence in the locker room.
With a career spanning 12 seasons and stints with 10 different teams, Thomas will enter the offseason as an unrestricted free agent.
