Dallas Mavericks' star Kyrie Irving makes it to the 41-player pool for the 2024 Paris Olympics, raising the possibility of reuniting with former teammate and Phoenix Suns' standout Kevin Durant in Team USA. Both players previously shared the court with the Brooklyn Nets and clinched an Olympic gold medal in Rio De Janeiro in 2016.

When discussing what makes Irving such an impactful talent in the international setting, Durant praised him as

"The most skilled to ever play the game."

It doesn't matter if Irving is playing in the NBA, with Team USA, or at Rucker Park; Durant greatly respects how Irving can impact the game.

Durant highlighted that the camaraderie among the world's top basketball players was the standout aspect of playing for Team USA. The collective focus is on doing whatever it takes to secure victory, all within the framework of fostering a enjoyable and spirited environment.

"Just the camaraderie, the brotherhood, knowing that we have the best basketball players in the world trying to compete for one common goal, and nothing else matters but winning," Durant said.

Before delving into the Olympic process, where Irving aims to guide the Mavs to success amidst their 24-20 start this NBA season, he will kick off the journey with a training camp in Las Vegas this summer. The preparation includes several exhibition matches, with matchups against teams like Canada in Nevada, followed by contests against South Sudan and Germany at London's 02 Arena.
