The Sixers will be Investigated for violating League policy
A unique circumstance has presented itself coming out of the Denver Nuggets win over the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday night. All-Star and current league MVP Joel Embiid was a very late scratch due to the training staff not liking what they saw out of his pre-game warm up routine when it comes to a sore knee that Embiid has been nursing.
The Nuggets Head Coach fully expects the league to investigate citing the league Player Participation policy.«I don't know how you go from being active, available, to out. And I'm sure the league will do their due diligence, because that's frowned upon,» Malone said. «And we've had situations this year where we talked to the league, and they told us if a player goes from being active to out, there's going to be an investigation. So I'm sure that'll happen. And I'm sure that Joel, he hurt his knee in the Indiana game. Like, that's real. I'm sure he is hurt.»
The Player Participation Policy is an effort by the league to stop teams from sitting their Star Players, like Embiid, who are not seriously injured. The guidelines in the policy specifically mention Nationally Televised games such as the one with the Sixers and Nuggets on Saturday. This was billed as nationally Televised match up pitting Embiid Vs Jokic, but that did not happen.
Sixers fans are hoping their star is not seriously injured, as their season mostly will depend on his health.
