NBA Insider Reveals Joel Embiid Return Timetable
Current League MVP Joel Embiid underwent a procedure on Tuesday to fix a tear in his left meniscus. According to NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski he will be reevaluated in 4 weeks.
This gives us some idea of when Embiid will be back, remember an evaluation does not mean clearance to play. Barring any setbacks, Embiid should be able to start working out again and working with Team in 4 weeks, and then will need some time to ramp back up to game action shape. It appears that the best possible scenario would mean 6-8 weeks until we see the MVP again in game action for the Sixers.
The Sixers are currently exploring their options that will get their season back on track. Not only are they searching for another star player (AKA Jimmy Butler) but now they need another big man in Embiid absence. Philly has a lot to figure out, but finding out Embiid's timetable was essential before Thursdays Trade Deadline.
