It's Official for Mike Conley
According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, sources confirm that Minnesota Timberwolves point guard Mike Conley has agreed to a two-year contract extension worth $21 million. This extension will keep Conley with the team until the 2025-2026 season, avoiding free agency.
The Timberwolves have historically made playoff appearances but lacked sustained success in recent seasons. However, since acquiring Rudy Gobert and Mike Conley from Utah, they've bolstered their defensive depth.
Currently leading the Western Conference with a four-game winning streak, the Timberwolves boast the league's top defensive rating.
In his 50 games played, Conley has averaged 10.6 points and 6.4 assists per game while shooting 44.2% from beyond the arc, showcasing his defensive contributions as well. This deal ensures a key starter for their future, particularly in a season where they've had their best start in years.
