Grizzlies Sign Former 7th Overall Pick
Earlier today, Shams Charania reported that the Memphis Grizzlies have made the decision to sign NBA veteran Bismack Biyombo to the team on a one-year, $5 million contract, with $1 million guaranteed.
Bismack Biyombo's Career
Bismack Biyombo was selected as the 7th overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft and has since accumulated 12 seasons of experience with the Charlotte Hornets/Bobcats, Orlando Magic, Phoenix Suns, and Toronto Raptors. He has made the NBA playoffs on 4 separate occasions.
His career statistics include averaging 5.1 PPG, 5.9 RPG, and 1.3 BPG, with a shooting percentage of 53.3% from the field. The experienced center's most recent performance showed averages of 4.3 PPG, 4.3 RPG, and 1.4 BPG, all while maintaining an impressive shooting percentage of 57.8% from the field with the Phoenix Suns.
Last season, he participated in eight NBA playoff games with the Suns, but the team was ultimately defeated by the Denver Nuggets in the second round.

A Great Signing by the Grizzlies
With Steven Adams sidelined for the season, Biyombo could potentially prove to be a valuable addition to the team, likely serving as a backup for Xavier Tillman.
The Grizzlies have faced a challenging beginning to the season, dropping all of their first five games.
Their most recent loss was a 133-109 defeat to the Utah Jazz in Salt Lake City on Wednesday. Their upcoming game is set for Friday night in Oregon, as they take on the Portland Trail Blazers. Hopefully, this signing can make a positive impact for the team.
