LeBron James dropped 40 points on the Brooklyn Nets Sunday night, however, that did not stop Stephen A. Smith from hitting James with a harsh reality check.
At 39 years old, everyone knows at this point that LeBron James probably doesn't have much time left in the league. In fact, LeBron admitted that while speaking to reporters recently. However, is still very much confident in his abilities. He is looking for that elusive fifth NBA championship, and he will do anything to get it.Having said that, he has his fair share of doubters out there. For instance, on First Take today, Stephen A. Smith claimed that LeBron James only has one more chance at an NBA title. In his mind, LeBron won't be better than this, ever again.
"The bottom line is this. In my opinion, this is the last dance with LeBron James playing the way that he is playing. I don't expect him to be better next year than he is this year."

Smith made sure to note that he isn't expecting LeBron to be bad next year. That said, he is being realistic about what the Lakers can do once LeBron turns 40 years old. After all, teams throughout the Western Conference continue to get better. Meanwhile, the Lakers have continuously struggled to be a top contender. In fact, as it stands, they are only ninth in the Western Conference standings.
"I'm not saying that, but I said I don't expect him to be better. I would not disrespect him like that. He's too great for me to assume that. because we've seen him defy father time and the odds for so long. But I don't expect him to be better, I damn sure don't expect the rest of his crew to be better, and so I'm looking at the Los Angels Lakers and I'm like yo, the time is now because guess what, Oklahoma City ain't going to get worse, Minnesota ain't gonna get worse, Denver ain't gonna get worse, Dallas ain't gonna get worse."
Only time will tell whether or not LeBron can get his fifth title ring. No matter what, once he retires, he will immediately go down as one of the greatest players to ever do it.
