Kevin Durant Reveals How Lebron James Inspires Him

LeBron James has been the main face of the NBA for over 20 years now. It is no secret that he is an inspiration to two separate generations, and with no signs of slowing down — after recording 29 points, 8 rebounds, and 7 assists at age 38 — it seems he will continue to inspire fans for years to come. Surprisingly, though, one NBA superstar has hailed LeBron as still being an inspiration to them, despite being one of the best players on the planet themselves and having been an NBA Finals opponent to James on three separate occasions.

This player is former MVP Kevin Durant, who, when speaking on the ETCs podcast, called LeBron an inspiration for continuing to play at a high level despite his age and commented on LeBron's unparalleled longevity.


Although they matched up as rivals in the 2012, 2017, and 2018 NBA Finals, Durant and LeBron are known to be good friends off the court. They even teamed up together for Team USA at the London Olympics in 2012, where they won Gold.


With recent reports emerging of Team USA assembling a superteam for the upcoming Paris Olympics, it is possible that we may see the two icons team up once more in what is being called the "Last Dance" of their respective international careers.
