Head Coach Darvin Ham Calls Out the Lakers
In his second season as an NBA head coach, Darvin Ham seems to be feeling more confident as he publicly called out his star-filled roster after their latest defeat to the Sacramento Kings.
Lakers ExpectationAfter leading the Lakers to the Western Conference Finals in his first season as head coach, there are many fans expecting them to challenge for a championship this season. With the added experience and an improved roster from last year, this isn't an unrealistic expectation. Although they've only started the season 6-6 so far, there's plenty of time for improvement.
Coach Ham Calls Out Turnovers
The early stages of a long NBA season are useful for trialing new tactics and working out small kinks within your gameplan. After last night's game, it seems Coach Ham has identified an area for the Lakers to improve upon: turnovers and the points allowed from them. Ham addressed this in the post-game press conference, and it's certain that the Lakers will focus on enhancing this aspect of their game moving forward.
«I think, when you turn the ball over early, I think we had seven in the first quarter, giving them 16 points, it's pretty hard. Damn near impossible to get your defense set up. Young team like that's predicated on playing fast, running fast, taking advantage of opportunities like that, self-inflicted wounds really hurt us early, particularly in the first quarter,»
