Norman Powell Pulls Hilarious Prank on Fellow Clipper

Norman Powell, 2019 NBA champion and player for the Los Angeles Clippers, decided to play a hilarious prank on his teammate Moussa Diabate. His diabolical plan involved filling Diabate's car with loads of popcorn. This unexpected and amusing surprise left Diabate facing the daunting task of cleaning up the mess, and it likely made him reconsider ever leaving his car keys unattended again.

Norman's Source of Inspiration

This whole thing may have been inspired by everyone's favourite duo, Shaquille O'Neal and Charles Barkely of Inside the NBA. In 2022, Barkley decided to prank the tall fellow by playfully hurling water bottles in his direction. Shaq, true to his nature, couldn't let this prank go unanswered. In his signature style, the Diesel retaliated by filling Barkley's car with packing peanuts spilling out from all ends.




A year later, Norman Powell drew significant inspiration from Shaq's prank on Chuck. Powell decided to surprise his 21-year-old teammate, Moussa Diabate, by filling Diabate's car with popcorn from the interior. A clip from Powell's Instagram story, documenting this playful act, made its way to BASKETBALL on X, accompanied by a caption that read:



Giannis Pulls the Same Prank on Bucks Rookie

A full four years before Shaq's famous prank on Charles Barkley, Giannis Antetokounmpo pulled a similar prank on Milwaukee Bucks rookie Sterling Brown. He playfully filled Brown's car to the brim with cascading popcorn. When asked about the prank, Giannis shared his perspective, saying:



In the NBA, it has always been a tradition for rookies to pay their dues by fulfilling the demands of the team's veterans. It's a way to not only show respect, but also to earn it. Giannis, well, he had a blast teaching Sterling a lesson!

It's nice that the players have fun pranking and teasing each other. After all, these guys are like family to one another. And, like all families, they show that they care for one another. Some, like Giannis, Shaq, and Norman, certainly have a funny way of doing it.
