NBA Champion Reveals the Key For Harden to Succeed on Clippers
The Los Angeles Clippers have made a bold move this season by trading for former MVP James Harden to complement their already star-studded roster. With chemistry issues emerging upon the Beard's arrival, an NBA champion has spoken out, sharing some advice on what he believes to be the key for Harden's success in Los Angeles.
Clippers Chemistry IssuesIt is clear that the Clippers are holding nothing back as they aim to win their first ever NBA championship this season. Fielding 2 former MVP's a Finals MVP and 8 time All-Star they definitely have a competent starting lineup, the only issue thus far has been how to maximise all four players production in just a 48 minute game.
Unlike other traded stars like Damian Lillard and Bradley Beal the Clippers only traded for Harden after the season had already started. this means that they had no time to prepare and figure out a system in the offseason. Fortunately with an 82 game regular season there is still alot of time for the Clippers to find their way and with each passing game acting as another lesson iot shouldn't be too long before they are in full form ready for the playoffs.
Harden Struggles
Although it's still early and they're improving, Harden's start with the Clippers was unfortunately rough, marked by a six-game losing streak after his arrival. While the Clippers are gradually returning to winning ways, Harden's performances have fallen short of expectations.
His scoring has hit a 13-season low, despite shooting his best percentages both from beyond the arc and overall. The limited shot attempts can be attributed to the overwhelming star power of the team. However, his assist numbers are notably below par. Averaging fewer assists than he has in a decade, doubts about Harden's value are surfacing as he nears 35 years of age.
NBA Champion Speaks Out
Commenting on Harden's recent form, Denver Nuggets' star Jamal Murray has spoken out. He noted Harden's exceptional shooting year and expressed a desire to see Harden take more shots.
«I would like him to shoot more, honestly. He can shoot it! ... He does a good job playing at his own pace and getting other guys involved.»
While Harden is undoubtedly the more experienced player and boasts numerous accolades compared to Murray, who is yet to secure a single All-Star appearance, Murray brings an NBA championship experience that Harden lacks. He possesses knowledge from playing alongside a superstar like two-time MVP Nikola Jokic, which lends credibility to Murray's viewpoint. Given they play the same position, Harden might consider transforming his role to mirror Murray's style as he adjusts to playing alongside Leonard, George, and Westbrook.
