Former 14th overall Pick Aaron Nesmith has signed a $33 million contract extension to remain with the Indiana pacers organisation. This deal makes Nesmith the 10th player from the 2020 draft class to sign a rookie extension.

Celtics

After being selected by the Boston Celtics, Nesmith came off the bench in just over half of the Celtics' fixtures. During this time, he averaged less than 5 points per game and around 13 minutes per appearance. His unimpressive start saw the Celtics send Nesmith to play for their G-League affiliate team during his final season in Boston.

The Celtics eventually traded nesmith to the Pacers along with other assets as they brought in Malcom Brogdan.

Breakout Season

As a Pacer, Nesmith had a breakout season, becoming a regular starter for Indiana as he averaged over 10 points per game. Nesmith is a great fit for the young core led by Tyrese Haliburton and Buddy Hield. His impressive season was so impactful that he has been signed to stay with the Pacers for at least 3 more years as they continue their rebuild.
