Warriors Key Player Set To Miss Kings Game Due To Injury
Tonight's Pacific Division matchup between the Golden State Warriors and Sacramento Kings is set to take place with both teams missing key players. Most notably absent is the four-time champion with the Warriors, Draymond Green.
Green InjuryGreen picked up an ankle sprain just before the preseason during a Warriors practice. He has missed all of the preseason as well as the Warriors' season opener loss to the Phoenix Suns.
The injury is not considered to be long-term, with reports suggesting that Green will return to the starting lineup within the next two games, either against the Rockets or Pelicans.
Kings injury
As for the Kings they aren't missing any starters but have confirmed that two forwards will miss tonights game as Trey Lyles is out with a calf injury and Jalen Slawson is allegedly out with an illness.
While not devastating blows to the Kings roster the loss of both forwards may put strain on their current forwards that may have to play extended minutes. There is also concern that they may not have enough forwards to replace them if they run into foul trouble.
Kings vs Warriors
This matchup will be a rematch form last seasons playoff series where the warriors eliminated the Kings in a thrilling game 7. This marked the Kings first playoff appearance in 16 seasons and they will likely be out to avenge their loss.
The Kings had a breakout season last year earning the 3 seed in the Western Conference led by reigning clutch player of the year De'Aaron Fox. Sportsbooks have the Kings as -3 favourite to win which would see the Warriors begin the season 0-2.
