Kendrick Perkins' Shocking Statement on the Warriors

"For the life of me, I don't understand why the Warriors don't stop the bleeding, Trade Klay Thompson!"

Perkins made the statement during Tuesday's episode of First Take.

The Golden State Warriors face a pivotal moment with star guard Klay Thompson.

Thompson, aged 33, has experienced a rollercoaster 2023-24 season. In Monday's 109�98 triumph against the Brooklyn Nets, Thompson was substituted out of a close game with 7:19 remaining. He remained on the bench as Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, and the young talent of the Warriors secured the victory.

ESPN analyst Kendrick Perkins suggests there's a strategic move on the horizon.

In 45 games this season, Thompson averages 17.1 points with a 37.1% three-point shooting, marking his career-low in three-point shooting and his lowest scoring average since his 2012-13 season.

Thompson, an unrestricted free agent this summer, couldn't secure a contract extension with the Warriors before the season.

"When you think about Klay, I don't think that he's done, I think he's mentally not there. And it's been that way before the season even started when they were negotiating and trying to come up with a contract extension. ... When you're not there psychologically and mentally, you're not going to perform at your best.''

If the Warriors retain Thompson this week, Golden State fans might soon see the Splash Brother in a different uniform this offseason if they part ways.
