The Dallas Mavericks faced off against the Brooklyn Nets at Barclays Center in New York on Tuesday evening, where Kyrie Irving made headlines with a viral highlight — a spectacular alley-oop dunk off Josh Green's lob pass. It marked Irving's return to Brooklyn after being traded to the Mavs last season.
The former Duke star entered the game with impressive averages and the Mavs positioned as the eighth seed in the Western Conference. After defeating the Philadelphia 76ers in their previous game, the Mavs aimed to continue their momentum. Following their matchup with the Nets, the Mavs will stay in New York City to play the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden on Thursday. Meanwhile, the Nets, currently the 11th seed in the Eastern Conference, were looking to bounce back from a recent loss to the Golden State Warriors.
They were set to face the Cleveland Cavaliers in Ohio after their game against the Mavs.
