Breaking: Luka Doncic's Historic Performance
Luka Dončić responded to Joel Embiid's 70-point game by scoring an impressive 73 points against the Atlanta Hawks on Friday night, surpassing not only Embiid but also his own previous best and setting a new team record for the Dallas Mavericks. Prior to this game, both his personal and team records stood at 60 points.
This achievement propelled 24-year-old Dončić to fourth place for the highest-scoring game in NBA history. In celebration, the Mavericks shared a photo, seemingly depicting a young Doncic in an edited version of his current jersey.
In his sixth season, Dončić hit a three-pointer with 2:58 remaining, reaching 70 points for the night, and secured the win for the Mavs with another three-point shot, resulting in a 148-143 victory. His performance ties him for fourth in single-game scoring, trailing only Wilt Chamberlain (100 points in 1962), Kobe Bryant (81 points in 2006), and Chamberlain again (78 points in 1961).
