Alex Caruso takes home the NBA Hustle Award for 2023-2024
Chicago Bulls guard Alex Caruso has clinched the 2023-24 NBA Hustle Award, announced by the league on Thursday. Caruso joins Thaddeus Young as the second Bulls player to snag the honor, following Young's win in 2020-21. This award highlights players who consistently impact the game's outcome on both offense and defense, often through stats not typically found in the box score—like deflections, loose balls recovered, charges drawn, screen assists, contested shots, and box-outs.
Caruso made his mark on both ends of the court throughout the season, ranking high in various hustle stats. Alongside achieving career highs in scoring, rebounding, steals, and blocks, he topped the league in deflections per game and ranked among the top players in loose balls recovered and contested three-point shots as a defender.
Furthermore, he set personal bests in three-pointers made, steals, and blocks, making him the first Bulls player to hit those marks in a single season. Caruso's outstanding hustle and defensive prowess solidify his status as a key player for the Bulls and a deserving recipient of the NBA Hustle Award.
