Chicago Bulls Star on the Move?

The Bulls have been among trade rumors for several weeks now, but things are expected to heat up as all 30 NBA teams will be sending representatives to Chicago for the tip-off of the college season at the annual Champions Classic.

With the first look at potential future draft picks, many GMs across the league will be in Chicago this week. On top of collegiate athletes, many teams may be taking closer looks at the Chicago Bulls' roster, and more specifically, 28-year-old Zach LaVine.

With many buying teams, such as the Lakers and 76ers, looking to add another star this season, the Bulls may be facing a bidding war for their best player.


Bulls frustrations

The Bulls have been on the brink of a rebuild for a while now after several disappointing runs with this core group of players. Coming into the season, there was the belief that this was the final chance for this roster to prove it can compete. Yet, after a 118-109 loss to the Bucks on Monday, the Bulls are now only 4-7 and may finally be ready to blow it all up.

This isn't too surprising, especially after veteran big man Nikola Vucevic's comments following the season opener. In a loss to the Thunder, Vucevic publicly vented his frustrations and cited how the offensive game plan was too similar to previous years. He believed they would be taking a new approach this time out.

Lavines Value

While many players are likely to be traded if the Bulls do go into a rebuild, there is one clear player that stands out as the most valuable. Lavine is having yet another great season individually for Chicago. He has started all 11 games thus far and is averaging 21.9 points, 3.0 assists, and 4.8 rebounds.

With his recent form, he may well be making a push towards being named an All-Star for the 3rd time in 4 years. Being under contract for at least 3 more seasons after this one, his value is certain to be high, with any team trading for him receiving a certified star.
