This NBA Superstar is trying to recuit Lillard

Just when you thought the Super Team fad was fading away, Jason Tatum makes an attempt to recruit Damian Lillard to the Boston Celtics, further galvanizing what has become a stalemate in big name trade movement throughout the summer.

According to Marc Spears at ESPN, Jason Tatum has reached out to the Trailblazers star in an attempt to sway him over the Green Machine. However, Lillard isn't biting. At least, not yet.


Damian Lillard has consistently reiterated his team of choice and it has always been the Miami Heat. But is he short changing his options with this singular request? Furthermore, is he not pigeon holing the Portland Trailblazers and any leverage they may have exercised on the open trade market?

The logistics make sense. The Boston Celtics need a pure point guard who can direct ball movement and shot selection down the stretch. Dame is an experienced, and an unbelievable scorer himself, as well as a master delegator down the stretch. His talents and expertise would be the perfect fit for the Boston Celtics, and fans would experience multiple conniptions should this scenario play out. But why doesn't Dame want it for himself?


When a perennial MVP candidate like Jason Tatum, on a team destined to come out of the Eastern Conference like the Boston Celtics, comes calling, shouldn't you pick up the phone? Not only would Lillard position himself for that ever elusive ring, but he may also be the final piece in what could eventually be the Celtics next dynasty.
