Jayson Tatum led the scoring tonight for the Celtics in their 124-114 victory over the Brooklyn Nets. Scoring 32 points tonight, Tatum has now reached 10,000 points for Boston and has broken the record for the youngest player to reach this milestone.

10,000 Points for the Celtics

Tatum becomes just the 14th player in history to reach 10,000 points for the Celtics, joining an illustrious list that includes Boston greats such as Larry Bird, Bill Russell, and Paul Pierce.

At only 25 years old, Jayson is the youngest to reach this milestone, and with many years ahead of him, it is possible that he could end up finishing his career as the highest-scoring Celtic ever. Currently, John Havlicek holds that title with 26,395 points.

Joe Mazzulla Acknowledges Record

After the game, Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla acknowledged this new record by awarding the game ball to Tatum on this historic night. He also spoke highly of his star player in a post-game press conference, attributing Tatum's ability to break this record to his dedication.
