Celtics Guard Signs $30 Million Contract Extension
Boston guard Payton Pritchard has signed a contract extension worth $30 million to remain with the Celtics for the foreseeable future. After trading Marcus Smart and Malcolm Brogdon this offseason, it looks like the Celtics are trying to maintain depth at the guard position alongside recently acquired Jrue Holiday.

Pritchard was drafted by the Celtics in 2020 and has played in most of their games since, including 9 starts for the franchise. His minutes and usage have dropped season by season as a Celtic; however, this extension signifies that this is likely to change, and he will be expected to provide valuable minutes this upcoming season.
Pritchard averaged 5.6 points, 1.3 assists, and shot 40% from 3-point range last season. Below, you can watch his highlights from last year.
