Vucevic Calls Out Chicago Bulls Teammates

The Chicago Bulls have experienced little success in recent seasons, with their last playoff series win dating back to 2015 and having only reached the playoffs twice since then. Despite this lack of success, they have been actively making positive changes to their roster in pursuit of building a championship contender. This has involved free agency signings and trades, bringing in players such as Lonzo Ball, DeMar DeRozan, and Nikola Vucevic.

Vucevic recently inked a 3-year extension with the Bulls and has been delivering impressive performances for Montenegro in the FIBA World Cup this summer. He has been averaging around 20 points and 9 rebounds per game while achieving his highest efficiency ratings on the international level. It appears that he is working to elevate his game for the upcoming NBA season and has publicly encouraged his Bulls teammates to do the same. In an interview with Yahoo Sports, Vucevic acknowledged that this upcoming season may be the last for the group as a core and emphasized the need for improvement.

"We have to do better,"

"And we know it's kind of our last chance as this core of guys to do something."

With trade rumors already circulating about DeRozan, it's highly probable that the core group in Chicago will be dismantled if they endure yet another disappointing season, including missing the playoffs last year. With that said, there are several potential directions they could take. Lavine or Williams could end up being traded, or even Vucevic himself. The Magic traded Vucevic in the same season he last made an All-Star appearance, so anything is possible.
