Insane Wembanyama Highlights against Rockets in Pre Season

After being drafted first overall by the San Antonio Spurs, 7'4 rookie Victor Wembanyama showed why he is worth all the hype with an incredible display against the Houston Rockets in the preseason. The Frenchman recorded 15 points and 6 rebounds in 21 minutes as the Spurs beat the Rockets 117-103.

Through the Defenders legs

The first highlight shows off Wembanyama's incredible handles as he dribbles the ball through Reggie Bullock's legs. This level of ball-handling skill is extraordinary for a player over 7 feet tall and demonstrates that Victor is truly the total package.

Acrobatic Pass

This highlight showcases Wembanyama's vision as he manages to spot an open teammate despite being directly under the basket and smothered by a Rockets defender. This demonstrates the exciting potential that Victor may someday be used in the role of a point center, a concept rarely seen since the 1960s when the center Wilt Chamberlain led the NBA in assists.

The shot was ultimately missed, but the acrobatics from the Frenchman make this a highly impressive play nonetheless.

The speed at which Wembanyama created space to receive the ball and immediately dunk is terrifying. It offers a glimpse into the future of how dominant Wembanyama can be, as it raises the question of how anyone will be able to defend a player who is 7'4 and still this athletic and agile.

The thought of Wembanyama paired with an elite passer like Trae Young or Tyrese Haliburton can completely open up the NBA to a modern-day version of Stockton and Malone.
